Tynedale beer festival

It had been a while since I’d visited my home village, what better excuse than the local beer fest. Well placed close to local transport links and within easy walking of corbridge village centre the location is ideal.

It was great to see that since the terrible floods last year the businesses and homes are beginning to come back to life.

In my opinion the ingredients that make a great festival (apart from the beer) are great food choices, good entertainment and decent weather. On all counts this festival delivered, along with local cricket and rugby matches being played at the adjacent clubs.

On to the beers, there was a vast selection of mainly northern and local breweries available. Throughout the day we managed to struggle through 12!

Stand out for me were Jakehead by Wylam brewery, Comfortably Numb by Bad Co., India Brown Ale by Box and 1872 Porter by Elland.

The festival has grown year on year and deserves to continue to if this year was anything to go by. I would highly recommend a visit of you are in the area next year.
