Building on last years location was always going to be hard but Carlisle memorial church was spectacular. Lovely open space with plenty of room for all to chat without having to shout over each other. It has a chilled out peaceful vibe which suited my Friday afternoon session very well.

The beer selection was spectacular, very tempting to try and work your way through them all.

Every beer I tried was great, particular stand outs were:

Siren-Vermont tea party, Toøl-Black Ball, De Molen-Hesken and Trollen Saison and Cholrton-Marzen Weisse.

An eclectic bunch but all amazing in their own way.

I always bang on about having good food at beer festivals and that was most certainly the case here. Fantastic cheeses, burgers, pizzas and poutine.

The ABV festival is up there with the best of them in Ireland. It will be good to contrast it with the RDS festival in a few days. I’m already looking forward to next years ABV and would recommend a visit if you can.
